Rice cultivation in the Philippines is one of the largest in the world with an area of over 2300 square kilometers. Bulalo rice, which is the most expensive rice varieties, is normally used as a main staple of Filipino cuisine. White rice, which is the cheapest rice varieties, is typically used for stir fries and stir-fry, and is usually eaten during meals.
